Composite Bonding Blackley

Restore a tooth that needs some TLC, with one of the most minimally-invasive cosmetic dental treatments around today: Composite Bonding.

About Cosmetic Bonding

What is Composite Bonding?

  • Composite Bonding is a process used to improve the appearance of a chipped, cracked or discoloured tooth. Misshapen teeth can also be made to look more natural and in keeping with neighboring teeth.
  • Layers of composite resin are placed and adhered onto the affected tooth and set with a special UV light. The tooth is then polished and resembles a tooth that is completely your own.
  • The resins used to fix your tooth are extremely natural-looking and will be chosen to match your natural tooth shade.
  • With good care, a bonded tooth can last 5 or 6 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

A consultation appointment will have to be arranged and an initial dental assessment will have to take place.

  • How long does Composite Bonding treatment take?

In many cases, Composite Bonding can take in the region of an hour to complete. It is known for being a straightforward treatment that can be carried out in just one appointment.

  • What’s the difference between Composite Bonding and Veneers?

These two treatments draw regular comparisons, as they ultimately achieve many of the same things. However, Veneers are generally used when more restorative work is needed, whilst Composite Bonding is more associated with aesthetic dental concerns.

Veneers fit onto the front surface of a tooth and require some natural tooth tissue to be removed; this is not true of Composite Bonding, which is a much more conservative treatment.

  • Do I need a consultation prior to treatment?

If you are a new patient, we will need to see you for an initial check-up, to assess the health of your mouth. If you are an existing patient, we should be able to carry out your treatment when you book in to see us.
